A QR code, short for Quick Response code, is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned using
a smartphone or QR code reader. It was created by the Japanese company Denso Wave in 1994 and
has gained widespread popularity due to its ability to store large amounts of data and its ease
of use.
QR codes consist of black squares arranged on a white background, typically in a square shape.
The information encoded in the QR code can be anything from text, URLs, contact information, to
multimedia content like images and videos.
To scan a QR code, you need a smartphone or tablet with a camera and a QR code scanning app.
Most modern smartphones have built-in QR code scanning capabilities in their default camera
apps, while others require a separate QR code reader app. When you scan a QR code, the app
decodes the information stored within the code and performs the appropriate action, such as
opening a website or displaying text.
QR codes are used in various applications, including advertising, product packaging, event
tickets, payment systems, and more. They provide a convenient way to access information quickly
and easily without the need to type or search for it manually.
